To: Norm Goldstein From: Wes Bethel Subject: Progress Report on ACTI project: Advanced Flux Visualization .... Date: 16 May 1995 Progress: Technical Met with partners in Houston during the first week of May. The purpose of the visit was to give the partners an opportunity to evaluate the prototype visualization techniques which had been built in the preceding weeks, and to brainstorm new ideas. Several new ideas came from this meeting, and prototypes of these new ideas (refinements of previous ideas) are underway. This group of prototypes will be evaluated in Houston next week. Progress: Administrative Met with local Tech Transfer people to discuss options to CRADA. One of the two non-disclosure agreements was signed by our local TT office. At this point, I'm waiting on the results of a Livermore- drafted "memorandum of understanding" to be completed, at which point this document will be tuned to this project. Plans for Next Month Receive from BP two new datasets. One is a small test dataset to evaluate visualization techniques as pertaining to faulted structures. The other is the big reservoir. Make a videotape showing time-based visualization of flow data. Meet with partners to evaluate latest round of prototypes. Iterate on visualization techniques. Pursue application of non-CRADA vehicle to this project. Problem Areas None.
